JetPig: Update 2

Hello again! I'm back.  I'm going to be waiting for Scratch HTML5 version. Then I will start conversion to HTML5/CSS3/JS, work out the bugs(there always are when it comes to code conversion), and send it to PhoneGap!

Project Cloudy: Update 1

And we're back! Project Cloudy (which will be called JetPig in testing) will be written in JavaScript, and I'm still working on some of the technics. It will be a 2-D endless runner(or in this case, flyer) game, in which the player is a pig, who somehow managed to escape from a farm and get hold of a jetpack. Now he has to worry about running from the scientists who made the jetpack. Now I will elaborate on step 1 of the game making process:
Step 1: Prototype
I decided to prototype in Scratch first. I know what you're thinking: "SCRATCH?! This kid is an amateur!!"And yes, I am an amateur. But that's not why I use Scratch. I use Scratch because I can work graphically, and not worry about code problems, bugs, or anything for now. Instructions: Press green flag to play, right and left arrow keys to move. Here it is:

First Project!

Hello again! Sorry I wasn't posting for so long, I just had to wrap up the school year and then we (me and my parents) headed to Maine/Canada for a few days.  But I've got some news for you! As of today, I am starting work on a new project, Project Cloudy (haven't thought of an actual name yet). I have none of the schematics decided yet, but if you can take time to collab with me on this, that'd be great.  Just post what you want to work on and your skill level on that in the comments or on Skype @ will.morong . That's all, folks!

Top 5 HTML5 Games

I'm ba-ack(crazy relative voice)! So, since HTML5 is finally getting the attention it deserves (I'm not a total HTML5 fanboy, just partway), I'm going to show you guys the best games I've seen to date.
5. Cut the Rope
You guys have all heard of Cut the Rope, right? Good, and if you haven't, get it on iTunes and Google Play. The web version is pretty good, but can get really slow at times, and there aren't many levels. Play at http://cuttherope.ie .
4.Ironbane
A Minecraft/WoW like game, still on alpha.  Make an account in this random world, find items, and talk to friends. Only problem is that the game is quite glitchy on most browsers but Chrome. Play at http://Ironbane.com.
3. Angry Birds Chrome
An all around way to pass the time with this classic web app. All the levels in the original, with nearly no lag. Includes all the annoying freemium payments and HD/SD mode as the original. Play at http://chrome.angrybirds.com
2.HexGL
HexGL is a fun racing game, based on WebGL(hence the name).  A bit like most modern racing games, it allows you to control video and  Desktop/Mobile modes. Although it can work smoothly on older computers, you still need WebGL to run it. Play at http://hexgl.bkcore.com

And the moment you've all been waiting for...(drumroll)

1.BananaBread
Even though it's not the newest, BananaBread was chosen because of all the things that were possible for HTML5. It showed how to convert C++ to HTML5 using Emscripten, 3D, audio, video, and all in one little package. BananaBread is a First person shooter. Play at https://developer.mozilla.org/en-US/demos/detail/bananabread

That's all folks!

Hello, Blogger!

My name is Will M. I am a middle school student who wants to work in web design or gaming when I grow up. I know that may sound like I'm not taking this seriously, but I am. I've already learned Python, Java, a teeny bit of C++, HTML, CSS, JS, SVG, and Scratch(ah, the good old days on my Raspberry Pi). With this blog, I will keep you up-to-date on my current projects. Enjoy!
